Built for the Field
Fast in the crawlspace. Fast on the roof.
What is Built for the Field?
The Report Builder works offline, syncs across devices instantly, and keeps your photos organized as you go.
- Offline mode with automatic sync
- Near-instant sync between phone and web
- Gallery, new camera, and photo management tools
- Runs on
- iPhone, iPad, Android and the browser
- Sync
- Near instant between phone and web, so the report is the same report on both
- Offline
- Turns itself on whenever the network is not there. Nothing to switch
- What you see
- Everything captured offline is tracked visibly, so you can watch it recording rather than hope
- When signal returns
- It syncs on its own, retrying gently so a weak connection is not overwhelmed
- Conflicts
- Line item, comment and media edits merge rather than overwrite, so two partial edits both survive
- Photos and video
- On their own upload pipeline, with crash recovery, so a closed app does not lose media
- Media types
- Photos, video, and 360 photos with a built-in viewer
- Capacity
- Effectively unlimited. Over 1,000 findings and 2,000 photos on one inspection without strain
How Built for the Field works
-
1
Work as if you have signal
There is nothing to switch on. The app turns offline mode on by itself whenever the network is not there.
-
2
Watch it capture
Everything you do offline is tracked visibly in the app, so you can see it being recorded rather than trusting that it is.
-
3
Keep taking photos
Media goes on its own upload pipeline. Photos appear in the report immediately and upload later.
-
4
Come back into range
It syncs on its own, and retries if the connection is still weak, so nothing is lost and nothing is hammered.
-
5
Pick up on the web
Sync between phone and web is near instant, so you can finish the report at a desk.
Worth knowing
Offline applies to the Report Builder
The field app is built offline first. The Admin App, where scheduling and settings live, expects a connection.
Media can take longer than text
Text syncs in moments. A crawlspace worth of photos uploads over a longer window, which is why it runs on its own pipeline.
Merging is not magic
Two inspectors editing the same finding both survive because edits merge. Agreeing who covers what before you start is still faster.
Built for the Field, answered
Does Binsr work with no signal at all?
Yes. Offline mode turns itself on, everything is tracked on the device where you can see it, and it syncs the moment you are back in range.
What happens to photos I take offline?
They appear in the report straight away and upload on their own pipeline when signal returns, with crash recovery if the app closes.
Will I lose work if two of us edit the same thing?
No. Line item, comment and media edits merge rather than overwrite, so two partial edits both survive.
Can I start on my phone and finish on a computer?
Yes. Sync between phone and web is near instant, so it is the same report on both.
How big can an inspection get?
Effectively unlimited. Over 1,000 findings and 2,000 photos on a single inspection is comfortable, and you should never meet a data limit in normal work.
